Caitlin MacVicar (BSc) is a Food Technologist within the Scottish Centre for Food Development and Innovation.
- Overview
Caitlin graduated from QMU with a BSc (hons) in Nutrition and Food Science in 2019. She first joined the Scottish Centre for Food Development and Innovation in August 2020 and has had a variety of roles since starting including food technician, lead on a research project and is now a food technologist specializing in innovation projects. Her role within the SCFDI sees her challenged daily to develop new and innovative food and drink products. Caitlin has already worked on several different drinks projects including alcoholic drinks, non alcoholic spirits and soft drinks, a large salt reduction project and has assisted with both sensory and consumer testing projects.
She has a keen interest in minimizing waste in the food industry and after completing a research project into the utilization of the bi-product from soy sauce production she is now on the lookout for other avenues to become more sustainable in the food industry.
Caitlin is in the early stages of her career and is excited to develop within her field.
