Division of Dietetics, Nutrition and Biological Sciences, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Radiography
The Division of Dietetics, Nutrition, Biological Sciences, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Radiography is the largest Division within the University. The Division has a commitment to providing academic programmes that integrate academic and practical based study to enable scientists and health care professionals of the future to have a high intellectual and practical ability.
Programmes are offered at undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as continuing professional development opportunities. One of our strengths is the strong links that we have to stakeholders and employers, ensuring that our graduates are fit for practice. We take particular pride in the employability of our graduates.
In addition to delivering high quality teaching and learning, staff members are also engaged in research, much of which has attracted external funding. Students benefit from this through research informed teaching and learning. There is a thriving doctoral student community supervised by divisional staff. The Division is committed to widening access to our programmes and we are involved in a range of outreach activities that aim to encourage entry to higher education. Our students are very much involved in these outreach activities and this is one example of the extra-curricular opportunities that we give students to help them develop a strong concept of social responsibility by giving back to the community.
The division has many national and international links and partners. These cover a range of activities including validation of programmes, research, staff and student exchanges. Students within the division are able to benefit from a diverse and culturally rich learning environment.
