Advancing Practice Academy (Health Sciences)
As an established provider of post-registration education for nurses, midwives, allied health professionals (NMAHPs) and others working in the healthcare sector, QMU has long led the way in advancing practice in health.
We offer NMAHPs an extensive range of postgraduate degrees, diplomas, certificates and single modules relating to clinical practice, leadership, research and education. These courses are focused around our Advancing Practice in Health course framework and our Person Centred Practice course framework, the Institute for Global Health and Development and Division of Occupational Therapy and Arts Therapies.
We offer an engaging, multi-professional learning environment, and course content aligned to the four pillars of practice - clinical practice, facilitation of learning, leadership and research.
Together the staff involved in teaching these postgraduate courses, and the research informing the courses, form our Advancing Practice Academy. Our staff include professionals from disciplines such as Dietetics, Health and Wellbeing, Nursing, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Radiography, Speech and Hearing Sciences.
Flexibility in module choice and modes of study (part-time, full-time, work place) is a central tenant of the Academy so that you can manage your study along with your work and home commitments. A number of modules are delivered online enabling you to study with QMU wherever you are in the world.
