Shirley Platz is a Honorary Lecturer in the Nursing Division at Queen Margaret University.Â

Shirley trained as a Clinical Psychologist in Edinburgh and had the opportunity to work with Professor Ivy Blackburn which was additional impetus to focus on CBT.
Shirley worked in Scotland (Lothian, Fife, Glasgow) including teaching on the Doctorate & Clinical Psychology program.
Shirley has had extensive experience as a tutor, lecturer and supervisor on the CBT Certificate and Diploma at Newcastle Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy Centre for many years.
Moving back to Scotland, Shirley worked in Tayside and contributed to the Clinical Associate course and the CBT course in Dundee.
Shirley was involved in developing, providing and evaluating supervision training for psychological therapies and specialist CBT supervision training, including Training for Trainers. Two papers were published from this work.
Finally, Shirley recently trained in KSA assessment with BABCP allowing a greater access to non-core professions into CBT training.Â
