Dr Mo Yan BSc, MSc (with Distinction), PhD, ACCA and FHEA is a lecturer and programme leader in Accounting and Finance with Queen Margaret University. Prior to joining QMU, Mo has practiced accountancy in the private sector (EY) and the Scottish public sector (RBGE), during which she qualified as a chartered accountant (ACCA). Upon securing a full scholarship to pursue a doctoral degree with University of Edinburgh, Mo started her academic career and has since presented at numerous national and international conferences. Mo is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. In her own time, she volunteers as a Board Director/Trustee with the Dundee Independent Advocacy Support.
Mo is passionate about providing a transformational education experience to students in Higher Education who will become well-rounded change agents for the future.

My research interest lies in researching critical and social aspects of accounting practices in diverse settings, especially public sector organisations and small/micro charitable organisations.

I am the programme leader for MSc in Accounting and Finance (with CIMA). My teaching and learning areas include Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Current Issues in Accounting and Finance.
