QMU Local Impact and Global Reach: Open Event
In this, the 150th anniversary of the founding of Queen Margaret University, we invite you to join us, along with QMU’s Principal, Sir Paul Grice, members of the University Court, staff and students at our annual QMU open event – Local Impact and Global Reach.
As a university anchored firmly in East Lothian, but with a global reach, we are focused on addressing the needs of our local community, and national and international concerns, through our teaching, research and innovation. At this event, we will update you on the impact of our work, and provide you with opportunities to meet our staff and students, and strengthen your connections with those whom you know already.
The event will include a brief presentation and Q&A session, as well as an informal ‘fair’ providing a fascinating insight into a range of our current projects. You will also have the optional opportunity to take a tour of the fabulous new study spaces in our Learning Resource Centre.
The exhibition fair is always a popular element of this event, and this year, stalls will focus on:
the public artwork being installed on campus this spring; work raising awareness of osteoporosis as a public health issue; our employer mentoring scheme for students; community wealth creation collaborations;
work in promoting the rights of babies and young children; student film projects;
innovations in supporting people with dementia; work in advising the National Autism Implementation Team; and much more.
There will be light refreshments and plenty of opportunities for networking. Join us for an inspiring and engaging evening.
